Health workers urged to treat sick with kindness

Very Rev. Bonaventure Annan challenged health workers to show compassion to those they care for. He spoke at the 34th World Day of the Sick event.

The celebration took place at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Hospital in Breman Asikuma. This is in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District of the Central Region.

The event was attended by patients, caregivers, clergy, local chiefs, and civic leaders. They gathered to mark the special day.

The Pope announced the theme for this year's World Day of the Sick. The theme is The compassion of the Samaritan loving by bearing the pain of others.

Very Rev. Annan stressed the importance of treating sick people with empathy. This means understanding and sharing their feelings.
