A policy expert said Ghana must better use water from the Bagré Dam in Burkina Faso. This water could help Ghana grow more tomatoes. The dam supplies water that could be used for irrigation.

Mutaru Mumuni Muqthar, Executive Director of the West Africa Center for Counter Extremism, highlighted this issue. He noted that Ghana is currently losing an opportunity.

The water could be channeled to support agricultural efforts in Ghana. This would boost the nation's tomato production. It would also reduce reliance on imported tomatoes.

Muqthar made these comments during an interview. He stressed the importance of strategic water management.
