Ghanaian security analyst Professor Kwesi Aning has stated that potential deaths of Ghanaian citizens abroad could be prevented with better travel advisories.

He said that the recent killing of Ghanaian tomato traders in northern Burkina Faso highlights a lack of protection and travel security for citizens.

Professor Aning mentioned that Ghana has improved relations with neighboring countries over the past year.

However, he stressed that these positive steps do not excuse the critical gaps in protecting Ghanaians who travel for business or other purposes.

The analyst’s comments come after the tragic deaths of several Ghanaian tomato traders.

He emphasized the importance of having clear and reliable travel warnings from the government.

These warnings help citizens make informed decisions about traveling to areas with known risks.

Professor Aning pointed out that ensuring the safety of citizens, including traders, is a key responsibility.
