A security analyst, Professor Kwesi Aning, said Ghana has worked to mend relationships with neighbors.

However, he noted that the deaths of Ghanaian tomato traders in northern Burkina Faso revealed weak spots in protecting citizens and travel safety.

Professor Aning suggested that if there had been reliable travel advice, such an attack might have been prevented.

He made these remarks in a recent interview. He described Ghana's efforts in strengthening ties with nearby countries over the past year.
