The Awutu Ofaakor Circuit Court has remanded 14 people involved in illegal demolitions. Twelve of the suspects posed as National Security officers. The other two were identified as landguards.

These individuals are accused of unlawfully destroying over 60 buildings. The demolitions happened in the Gomoa Akoti area.

A prosecutor told the court that the suspects acted without proper authority. The court ordered them to be held in custody for further investigation.

The police stated that they are continuing their inquiries into the incident. The properties destroyed included homes and other structures.

No valid permits or court orders for the demolitions were presented by the suspects. The court will hear the case again at a later date.
