The Centre for Legitimacy and Rule of Law, also known as CLRL, has stated that bringing back tribunals will not solve the slow pace of justice in Ghana's courts. They explained that the real issue is a lack of money for the judiciary.
CLRL supports the idea of restarting regional and district tribunals. These tribunals are part of Ghana's 1992 Constitution. However, they disagree with the Attorney General's belief that these tribunals alone will speed things up.
Officials from CLRL believe that the government needs to provide more financial support to the courts. This funding is essential for them to operate more efficiently.
They argue that without adequate money, the courts will continue to face delays, even with new tribunals in place.
The group insists that financial investment is the needed solution to improve the administration of justice.
