The High Court in Accra has thrown out a case that aimed to stop Baba Jamal from running in the Ayawaso East by-election. The court made its decision on Monday, March 2.
A group called Democracy Hub brought the lawsuit. They were concerned about vote buying during the National Democratic Congress parliamentary primary.
The court stated that the action brought by Democracy Hub was not valid. This ruling clears the way for the by-election to proceed without this legal challenge.
The Ghana Police Service was not directly involved in the court case, but will ensure peace on election day.
