According to Starr FM, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has withdrawn a defamation suit filed against the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, Eric Adjei, and two others. The legal action, initiated on August 28, 2026, sought GH¢2 million in compensation regarding alleged extortion claims. Before the Achimota Circuit Court, counsel for the Minority Leader stated that the parties reached a consensus to end the matter. It was agreed that the plaintiff would discontinue the writ, while the defendants would withdraw their pending application challenging the action. Counsel for the first defendant and Despite Company Limited confirmed they did not oppose the discontinuance. Presiding judge Her Honour Mrs. Akosua Anokyewaa Adjepong subsequently struck out the writ and all related pending motions without an order as to costs. This development follows a recent High Court ruling that dismissed a separate defamation suit brought by the Minority Leader against Sammy Gyamfi due to procedural defects.
