Journalist Listowel Mensah and other petitioners have formally requested an investigation into $2.7 million allocated to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for a Black Stars legacy project.

According to Atinka Online, the petition was submitted to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and concerns funding provided during the administration of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The petitioners are seeking scrutiny of the allocation and its use.

The report does not establish that EOCO has opened a formal investigation, made arrests or brought criminal charges.

The petition represents a request for official examination of the expenditure, not a finding that funds were misused.

No finding of wrongdoing by the GFA or any individual was confirmed in the report.
