A Ghanaian couple were attacked and robbed at a bus stop in the Bronx, New York, on Monday, according to their daughter.

According to Adom Online and MyJoyOnline, Emelia Sabah said her 73-year-old father walks her 61-year-old mother to the bus stop on Gun Hill Road every weekday morning so she can get to work safely.

She said that just before 5am on Monday the couple were ambushed by four masked people riding motorcycles. Two of them allegedly beat her father with a gun, while the other two attacked her mother.

Police said the suspects took the woman's purse, which held a debit card, her medication and $100 in cash.

Sabah said her mother, who works as a home attendant, is now afraid to take the bus.

No arrests were reported, and the suspects have not been identified.
