According to Citi Newsroom, a fire at High Tension in Kasoa resulted in the destruction of 15 container shops. The blaze, which occurred mid-morning, reportedly caused significant damage to businesses dealing in mobile phones, electrical appliances, and wood crafts. Residents allegedly pelted firefighters from the Weija Fire Station with stones upon their arrival, expressing frustration over the delayed response. According to the Assemblyman for the American Town Electoral Area, Shadrach Boakye Yiadom, emergency response was hindered because fire tenders at the Kasoa and Buduburam stations were broken down. Mr. Yiadom condemned the attack on the responders while calling for authorities to address the equipment failures. The Awutu Senya East Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation, Nash Nyandey, stated that a preliminary assessment suggests an electrical fault caused the fire. He noted that the area is congested and that the organization intends to clear the site to restore order.
