No one has been arrested nearly seven years after investigative journalist Ahmed Suale was shot dead in Madina, Accra, in January 2019.

Minister of State in charge of Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the government remained committed to unravelling the murder. He spoke on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama at the 30th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Media Awards in Accra.

Suale worked with Tiger Eye PI, the investigative team led by Anas Aremeyaw Anas. He was killed after his work featured in the "Number 12" investigation into corruption at the Ghana Football Association.

Kwakye Ofosu also said journalists in northern Ghana had previously fled the country in fear for their lives after publishing reports on powerful interests. The GJA has repeatedly called on the authorities to produce results in the case.
