72 undergraduate students of the African University of Communications and Business (AUCB) failed in an ex parte bid at the High Court to stop the university's 23rd Congregation.

The application, filed on 26 October 2026 as Asare Solomon Kojo & 71 Others v African University of Communications and Business (Suit No. GJ/0083/2027), was recorded at the registry as "NOT GRANTED, DISMISSED" by 30 October.

The students, 40 women and 32 men, had chosen to graduate under University of Ghana certification after AUCB obtained a Presidential Charter. Their application followed concerns over the certification arrangements for their degrees.

The congregation went ahead on 31 October 2026, the first since AUCB became an autonomous university. It conferred degrees on 350 graduands, 206 undergraduates and 144 postgraduates.
