The Lands Commission has introduced an online search service to assist buyers in verifying land information before making payments, aiming to simplify land acquisition and reduce fraud. According to the Deputy Executive Secretary in charge of Operations at the Lands Commission, Surveyor Raphael Hokey, the service allows applicants to upload a site plan via the Commission's online portal. Users can then pay the required search fee using mobile money and will receive a search report via email upon completion. This initiative is available in 10 regions, with the Ashanti Region expected to be added soon. The online portal can be accessed at onlineservices.lc.gov.gh. The four steps involve visiting the portal, uploading the site plan, paying the search fee, and receiving the report by email. This system provides a convenient method for buyers to obtain land details before committing to a purchase.
