Police in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region say medical examinations have cleared all 10 men who reported that their genitals had disappeared.
According to Chale News, citing MyJoyOnline, Asankragwa Divisional Police Commander Chief Superintendent Vitus Napen disclosed the findings at a press briefing on 26 October 2026.
The first case was reported at Wassa Dunkwa on 17 October. Wassa Dunkwa recorded six cases, Asankragwa two, and Aboi Nkwanta and Breman one each.
Police said preliminary investigations pointed to panic, anxiety and misinformation.
At Breman, a mob vandalised a police patrol vehicle as officers arrived to rescue a man accused of causing another man's genitals to disappear. No arrests had been made over the attack at the time of the briefing.
Chief Superintendent Napen warned that people who attack security personnel or raise false alarms could face prosecution.
