Lawyers for sports administrator Yaw Ampofo Ankrah have announced that their client will not make further public statements or appear before Parliament while an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service is active. According to legal firm Brookman, Amissah & Associates, counsel Jerry Avenorgbor Esq explained that such an appearance could compromise the integrity of the ongoing police inquiry. The legal team clarified this decision is not a refusal to cooperate but an effort to prevent interference with the investigation. They emphasized that an ongoing investigation does not equate to a finding of wrongdoing. The former Director-General of the National Sports Authority has reaffirmed his full cooperation with investigative authorities and will provide a full response once the investigation concludes.
