According to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), criminal networks are allegedly using the name of the direct-selling company QNET to lure unsuspecting individuals with promises of lucrative business opportunities. Superintendent William Ayariga, Director of the CID Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, stated that these groups use the company name as a cover to extort money and facilitate human trafficking. Superintendent Ayariga clarified that QNET itself is a legitimate business, but its name is being misused by perpetrators for financial exploitation and coercion into fraudulent online activities. The CID noted that victims are often targeted with promises of quick wealth, which are used to draw them into schemes before they are subjected to further exploitation. Authorities have advised the public to exercise caution when approached with offers demanding upfront payments for business opportunities. The CID encourages individuals to verify the identities of those making such offers and to contact the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit with any concerns. No arrests have been announced in connection with these activities.
