Mr. Ato Boateng has presented documents regarding his association with Atlas Commodities Ltd. These records confirm he transferred his ownership in the company.
This transfer happened before he took up his role at the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).
The action addresses allegations of conflict of interest. These allegations were made by Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah.
Mr. Assafuah is the Member of Parliament for Old Tafo. He had accused Mr. Boateng of having a conflict of interest due to his previous business ties.
The released documents are intended to show that Mr. Boateng no longer had a financial interest in the company. This would mean there was no conflict when he joined COCOBOD.
COCOBOD is a major state institution. It oversees Ghana's cocoa industry. Senior officials are expected to avoid conflicts of interest.
