NACOC has pledged to provide technical, training, and intelligence-gathering support to the Postal and Courier Services Regulatory Commission. This renewed partnership aims to enhance security and improve the detection of illicit drugs in parcels. NACOC's Director-General, Major General Maxwell Obuba Mantey, emphasized the importance of background checks for employees of courier and postal service providers. He also highlighted concerns about the increasing use of digital platforms for drug trafficking and the exploitation of service providers by traffickers. Major General Mantey urged the Commission to strengthen its operational measures, particularly parcel verification procedures. The Acting Executive Secretary of the Postal and Courier Services Regulatory Commission, Cosmas Anpengnuo, commended NACOC's support and noted the Commission's enhanced traceability mechanisms, including an application programming interface (API) integration platform. Companies failing to comply with the API system will not have their licenses approved or renewed, according to Mr. Anpengnuo. This platform improves the Commission's monitoring and control by tracking parties involved in deliveries.
