Challenging Heights rescued twenty-five children from forced labour. The children are between six and fourteen years old. They were found on Lake Volta.
The rescue happened over the weekend. It was a joint effort. The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Ghana Police Service and the Department of Social Welfare also participated.
Eighteen of the rescued children are boys. Seven of the rescued children are girls. They were subjected to forced labour.
Challenging Heights works to end child labour. This operation highlights the ongoing problem of child trafficking in Ghana.
The rescued children will receive support. This includes care and rehabilitation services. The goal is to help them recover and reintegrate into society.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the trafficking. They aim to bring those responsible to justice. This rescue is part of a larger effort to combat human trafficking.
