An Accra High Court has postponed a fraud case involving Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi. The case was scheduled for July 6, 2026.
The court has set July 27, 2026, for the next hearing. This will allow discussions about a possible plea bargain to continue.
The case involves allegations of fraud amounting to GH¢30 million related to EXIM Bank.
Bernard Antwi-Boasiako is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.
The judge is giving both sides a chance to reach an agreement on how to resolve the case without a full trial.
Details of the plea bargain talks have not been made public.
Further proceedings will depend on the outcome of these negotiations.
The Judicial Service is managing the court calendar for this matter.
