A committee formed to investigate complaints about improper charges at two major Accra hospitals has finished its work. The hospitals involved are the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, also known as Ridge Hospital, and Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
This investigation focused on claims that patients were asked to pay too much for services. The committee looked into these allegations of unethical medical practices.
They have now given their report to the Ministry of Health. The committee confirmed that certain unethical practices did take place.
Based on their findings, the committee has recommended disciplinary action. These recommendations are directed at some of the staff members involved.
The Ministry of Health will review the report and decide on the next steps. This action aims to ensure fair practices for patients at public health facilities.
