A special committee has finished its work investigating wrongdoings at two major hospitals. The hospitals are the Greater Accra Regional Hospital Ridge and the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The committee looked into claims that patients were charged too much money for services. This was considered unethical medical practice.
After their review, the committee found that indeed some unethical practices did take place.
The committee presented its findings to the Ministry of Health. Information from the Ministry indicates that the report recommends disciplinary actions.
These actions would be taken against some staff members who were involved in the unapproved charges.
The exact nature of the disciplinary measures is not yet public.
