The Social Security and National Insurance Trust SSNIT has made it clear that people in relationships that are not marriages cannot be named as beneficiaries for pension funds. This rule applies to all members of the SSNIT scheme.
Mr Frank Molbila the General Manager in charge of Benefits provided this clarification. He explained that the trust has specific guidelines for who can receive pension benefits.
According to Mr Molbila only blood relations of the SSNIT member can be legally registered as beneficiaries. This ensures that funds are distributed according to established family law and SSNIT regulations.
The trust aims to prevent disputes and ensure that pension benefits reach the intended legal heirs. This policy upholds the integrity of the pension system.
This information comes from Mr Frank Molbila General Manager in charge of Benefits at SSNIT.
