The Social Security and National Insurance Trust has clearly stated that individuals cannot nominate their romantic partners who are not blood relatives as beneficiaries for their pension funds. This rule applies to all members of the scheme.

Mr Frank Molbila, the General Manager in charge of Benefits at SSNIT, provided this clarification. He explained that the trust's regulations are designed to protect pension funds.

Only direct blood relations are permitted to be named as beneficiaries. This includes spouses, children, and parents.

This policy ensures that pension benefits are distributed within a defined familial framework, as intended by the trust.

The trust aims to maintain clear guidelines for the disbursement of these important funds.

SSNIT is committed to upholding the integrity of the pension scheme for all its members.
