The High Court in Accra has granted a third extension to former Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) officials. This allows them more time to submit their witness statements in the SkyTrain trial.

The accused include former GIIF Chief Executive Officer Solomon Asamoah and former Board Chairman Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi. They are involved in a case concerning $2 million.

Justice Audrey Kocuvie-Tay presided over the hearing. She directed the accused individuals to file their witness statements by a new deadline.

The new deadline for filing the witness statements is September 23. This is the third time the court has granted an extension for this purpose.

The SkyTrain project is the subject of the legal proceedings. Further details about the case are expected once the statements are filed.
