Anti-corruption campaigner Edem Senanu has asked for an investigation into how contracts were given for building astroturf football pitches.
He believes there may have been rule-breaking in the procurement process for these multi-million cedi projects.
Mr Senanu made his call during a segment on a radio show that focuses on corruption.
He outlined three steps he thinks should be taken to look into the concerns that have been raised.
The campaigner wants the Office of the Special Prosecutor to lead the investigation.
This follows reports that questioned the fairness and legality of how the contracts were awarded.
The projects involve the construction of football pitches with artificial grass in various parts of the country.
Further details about the specific allegations are expected to be revealed as the investigation progresses.
