Police and customs officers working together have seized many uncustomed goods at the busy port in Tema.
The large consignment included many electronics like phones and televisions, along with different types of cloth.
These items were brought into the country without paying the proper taxes or going through required checks.
The total value of the seized goods is estimated to be in the millions of Ghana cedis.
Officials from the Ghana Police Service confirmed the operation and stated investigations have begun.
The goal of these investigations is to find out who brought the goods into Ghana and who intended to sell them.
This action aims to stop illegal trade and protect legitimate businesses in Ghana.
Customs laws are in place to ensure fair trade and collect revenue for national development.
