A political official has called for the sale of Ghana's presidential jet. Dela Edem, who speaks for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), believes the country could use the money from selling the aircraft to help with development.

Edem stated that the current presidential jet, a Dassault Falcon 900, was recently sent to France for its annual checks. He suggested that this might be a good time to consider selling it.

The proposal comes with the idea that the funds generated should be put towards improving national projects. This would benefit the country more than owning the jet, according to the official.

The suggestion is to prioritize national development needs over the acquisition or continued maintenance of a costly aircraft.
