A communicator for the National Democratic Congress, Dela Edem, has called for the sale of Ghana’s presidential jet. He stated that the proceeds should be used to support national development efforts.

Edem made these remarks during a discussion on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem program. He suggested this action should happen before the government acquires a new presidential aircraft.

The current presidential jet is a Dassault Falcon 900. This aircraft was recently sent to France for its annual maintenance.

Edem believes selling the jet is a practical step towards addressing the country's development needs. He implied that the funds generated could significantly impact ongoing projects.

The NDC communicator did not specify alternative means of transport for the president. However, his focus remained on prioritizing development funding over the current jet.

His statement highlights a debate about government expenditure and resource allocation.
