The National Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (NCPTA) has asked private schools to lower the prices of textbooks.

Irene Sam, the Public Relations Officer for the NCPTA, made this appeal.

She explained that parents find the cost of textbooks a heavy financial burden.

Sam spoke on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem program.

She acknowledged the good quality of teaching and support in private schools.

However, she stressed that schools should not be places where parents feel extorted.

The NCPTA hopes that private schools will review their textbook pricing.

This action would help ease the financial pressure on parents.
