Deputy Minority Leader Patricia Appiagyei has declared her readiness to honour any invitation from the Office of the Special Prosecutor. This comes as the OSP begins looking into claims of a GH¢70,000 payment.
The payment is reportedly linked to the vetting of nominees for ministerial and Supreme Court positions. The OSP confirmed on Friday, September 4, that it had started preliminary investigations into the matter.
Appiagyei, who is also the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, expressed her willingness to cooperate fully with the investigation.
She stated that she has not yet received a formal invitation. However, she assured that she would attend if one is extended by the Special Prosecutor.
The OSP has not yet released further details regarding the specific nature of the alleged payment or the individuals involved beyond Appiagyei.
This development highlights the OSP's ongoing efforts to investigate potential corruption and financial impropriety within public institutions.
The public awaits further updates from the OSP as the investigation progresses.
