Manhyia South Member of Parliament Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah has spoken about corruption cases. He stated that the New Patriotic Party has never used nolle prosequi to protect its appointees.
Nolle prosequi is a legal term. It means a prosecutor can decide to stop a case before a verdict is reached.
Mr. Awuah was responding to comments made by Majority Chief Whip Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor. Mr. Dafeamekpor had spoken on JoyNews.
The MP asserted that the NPP government has a clean record regarding the use of this legal power. He believes the party has not abused it to shield individuals facing corruption charges.
His statement defends the party’s approach to prosecuting corruption allegations.
