Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, who is also Vice Chair of Parliament’s Subsidiary Legislation Committee, has spoken out against the arrest of Dennis Miracles Aboagye.
Mr. Awuah stated that the way Mr. Aboagye was arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) was unreasonable.
He also described the bail conditions set for Mr. Aboagye as unreasonable.
Mr. Awuah acknowledged that investigations into alleged wrongdoing are important.
However, he suggested that state institutions should act in a more appropriate manner.
The specific allegations against Mr. Aboagye have not been detailed.
Mr. Aboagye was reportedly arrested at the airport.
A bail amount of GH¢50 million was set.
