Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has publicly apologised and withdrawn allegations he made concerning the recruitment process for security services.

The allegations were directed at the Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka.

This retraction comes after the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Bernard Ahiafor, proposed that Mr. Afenyo-Markin's claims be referred to Parliament’s Privileges Committee for further examination.

The details surrounding the original allegations and the subsequent apology were presented in Parliament.

Authorities are expected to review the matter following the withdrawal of the claims.
