Metro Mass Transit Limited managers have stated their commitment to stopping unauthorized construction at the Opera Square Bus Terminal in Accra. They believe these developments are happening unfairly and will impact traders.
The Deputy Managing Director, Haroun Apaw-Wiredu, spoke to journalists on March 12. He explained that the management of Metro Mass Transit has accused the government of pursuing a corrupt agenda when selling parts of the bus terminal to a private developer.
Mr. Apaw-Wiredu indicated that his team plans to halt any building that has not been properly approved. The goal is to ensure the bus terminal serves its intended purpose for traders and public transport.
The management insists that these actions are necessary to protect the interests of the traders and the operational integrity of the bus terminal.
Further details on the specific actions to be taken were not immediately available.
