A former Minister for Trade and Industry, Kobina Tahir Hammond, has issued a strong challenge regarding a report presented to Parliament.
He stated the report contains allegations of fictitious debt amounting to GH¢89.4 million connected to the government’s One District One Factory program.
Mr. Hammond described these claims as unfounded and deliberately made to damage his public standing.
He has firmly denied the debt is fictitious.
Mr. Hammond is demanding that the Auditor General's report be withdrawn from Parliament.
He has threatened legal proceedings if the report is not retracted.
The controversy centers around findings detailed in a Bank Transfer Advice document.
Details about the specific contents of the Auditor General's report were not immediately available.
The Auditor General's office has not yet responded to the demand for withdrawal.
