Former Minister Kobina Tahir Hammond stated that allegations of a fictitious GH¢89.4 million debt are untrue. This debt is reportedly connected to the government's One District One Factory initiative. Mr. Hammond rejected these claims as unfounded.
He further described the allegations as a deliberate effort to damage his good name. The controversy stems from findings in a Bank Transfer Advice report. Mr. Hammond has demanded the withdrawal of this report from Parliament.
The former minister indicated he is prepared to take legal action if the report is not withdrawn. He believes the report contains inaccuracies. The Auditor General is expected to respond to these demands.
