Ghana’s former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, is seeking to live permanently in the United States. He is currently in a US immigration detention center.
This development occurs while Ghana is pushing for his extradition. Officials in Ghana want him to return to face several corruption charges.
Mr Ofori-Atta was arrested in January by US immigration authorities. He is being held at a facility in Virginia.
