The Institute for Energy Security (IES) has suggested the government stop collecting the Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy on diesel. This is in response to the current increase in global oil prices.
The IES believes that pausing this tax would offer consumers some needed relief. This relief would be modest but timely for people dealing with higher fuel expenses.
The call from the IES comes as global oil prices have been rising. This has led to increased prices at the pump for consumers in Ghana.
The Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy is one of several components that make up the total cost of fuel for consumers.
