A Ghana Water Limited task force has found an illegal water connection in Tema. The connection was located in the Tema Industrial Area.
Treated water was being taken from the official supply. This water was then reportedly sold to tanker operators.
Authorities have identified a suspect named Nana Sarpong. He is said to have operated the illegal connection.
Nana Sarpong reportedly used the company name Naspon Limited. The task force dismantled the illegal connection.
This action by GWL aims to prevent the theft of treated water resources.
The discovery is part of ongoing efforts by Ghana Water Limited to secure its infrastructure.
Illegal connections lead to water loss and reduced supply for legitimate customers.
Further action regarding the suspect will be determined by the relevant authorities.
