The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) wants shipping companies to immediately follow a court decision. A High Court has ordered them to charge the approved GH¢720 container administrative fee.

GUTA stated on July 27, 2026, that some shipping lines and their local agents are still not complying with the Ghana Shippers Authority’s approved charge.

The association expressed concern over the continued disregard for the court’s ruling. This situation affects traders who have to pay extra fees.

GUTA is urging the relevant authorities to ensure the court’s order is enforced without delay.

The approved charge is meant to regulate fees charged on imported containers.

Traders have faced challenges with inconsistent and sometimes excessive charges from shipping companies.

This court ruling aims to bring clarity and fairness to the process.

GUTA expects all shipping lines operating in Ghana to adhere to this directive.
