The Ghana Gold Board GOLDBOD has partnered with the Ghana Geological Survey Authority GGSA. They have signed an agreement worth GHC27.5 million.
This money will be used for geological investigations. These will take place in areas known for mining such as Funsi, Atuna, and Bensere East.
This project is the first step in a larger plan. It aims to support mining activities that are done responsibly in Ghana.
The investigation will be carried out over four months. It is expected to provide important information about the resources in these zones.
The findings will help to guide future mining operations. This ensures they are conducted in a way that benefits the country and respects the environment.
