The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has signed a GH¢27.5 million agreement with the Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GGSA). This partnership is set to conduct geological investigations in three key mineralised areas.

The areas selected for this initial phase are Funsi, Atuna, and Bensere East. The goal is to strengthen the foundation of data-driven mining operations across Ghana.

This agreement marks the first step in a comprehensive initiative. The broader plan is designed to generate credible geological information for the mining sector.

Officials stated the investigations will provide crucial data for future mining decisions. This will help the country make more informed choices about its mineral resources.

The partnership aims to improve the accuracy and reliability of geological surveys. This is expected to attract more responsible investment into Ghana's mining industry.

Both GoldBod and GGSA have committed to ensuring the success of this project. They highlighted the importance of robust geological data for sustainable resource management.

The findings from these investigations will be made available to stakeholders. This transparency is intended to foster confidence and encourage efficient exploration and exploitation of minerals.

This initiative supports the government's vision for a modernised and efficient mining sector. It prioritises the use of scientific data in decision-making processes.
