The Ghana Gold Board, also known as GoldBod, has signed a significant agreement. The deal is worth GH¢27.5 million. It aims to find new gold areas in northern Ghana.

GoldBod is partnering with the Ghana Geological Survey Authority, GGSA. Together they will carry out geological investigations. These studies will focus on three important mineral zones. This work is the first phase of a bigger project to understand Ghana's gold resources better.

This investment seeks to bring scientific methods to Ghana's gold mining sector. For a long time, the sector has operated with less detailed information.

The project's goal is to scientifically map areas that may hold undiscovered gold. This could lead to more responsible and efficient mining practices in the future.
