The Ghana Gold Board known as GOLDBOD has partnered with the Ghana Geological Survey Authority GGSA. They are starting a geological survey that will cost GHC27.5 million.
This survey is the first part of a plan to help make mining in Ghana more responsible. It will focus on important mining areas like Funsi, Atuna, and Bensere East.
The project is expected to last for four months. It aims to gather important information about the ground in these areas.
This information will help understand where minerals are located and how to mine them safely.
The Ghana Geological Survey Authority will carry out the fieldwork.
This initiative is intended to provide data that will guide future mining operations.
It supports the government's efforts to ensure good mining standards.
The survey will cover key zones known for their mineral deposits.
