Former Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame has expressed serious worries regarding the arrest and detention of his client, Hanan Abdul-Wahab. Abdul-Wahab is the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food and Agriculture Organisation Company Limited NAFCO.

Dame reported that he and the wife of Abdul-Wahab were prevented from seeing the former NAFCO CEO following his arrest. The arrest reportedly took place at Kotoka International Airport.

Officers who carried out the arrest are believed to be from a security agency. Details surrounding the exact charges against Abdul-Wahab have not been fully disclosed.

Dame spoke about the situation on Sunday, July 5. He stated that his client was arrested at the airport.

A Police statement has been sought for further information on the arrest and the conditions of detention.

The legality of the arrest and the subsequent denial of access are key concerns raised by Dame.

Further updates are expected as authorities provide more details on the case.
