The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry has issued a warning about rising fuel prices. They believe a potential increase at the pumps could negatively impact the country's recent achievements in lowering inflation.
This statement comes as inflation reached a historic low. The Ghana Statistical Service reported inflation at 3.3 percent in February 2026. This marks the fourteenth month in a row that inflation has decreased.
The Chamber of Commerce however highlighted potential challenges ahead. They suggested that new fuel price projections could threaten the positive trend in inflation figures.
This situation is important because lower inflation generally means goods and services become more affordable for everyone.
