Close to 50 million Ghana cedis belonging to Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has been frozen. Mr. Antwi-Boasiako is the New Patriotic Party NPP chairman for the Ashanti Region.
The Economic and Organised Crime Office EOCO took this action. This is part of investigations into suspected financial crimes.
Government spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu revealed the development. He is also the Member of Parliament for Abura Asebu-Kwamankese.
Mr. Kwakye Ofosu spoke about the matter on Joy News PM Express. He confirmed the freezing of the assets.
