Ghana has reached a debt restructuring agreement with Belgium. This is a step towards sorting out the country's finances.

The deal comes after a difficult economic time the nation experienced from 2022 to 2023.

Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, spoke at the signing event. He remembered the struggles Ghana went through during the economic crisis.

The agreement is designed to help stabilise public finances.

Details of the restructured debt, including amounts and repayment terms, are being finalised.

This agreement is part of a larger plan to manage Ghana's national debt.
